Portside Studio & Gallery is a creative space in the heart of the Florida Keys. The gallery serves as a sales location for the owner, poet and visual artist, Valerie Perreault, and also represents a curated group the very best in emerging artists from around the world (though visiting artist shows are currently on a temporary hold due to COVID). Portside (as named for the left side of a boat and the left handedness of the owner) features classes, film festivals, poetry readings, exhibitions, lectures, performances, installations, etc. It's been called, "a little slice of Miami's Wynwood in the heart of The Keys."
Owner Valerie Perreault is a published poet and printmaker living in Islamorada, a fishing village of small islands just a hop from Key West. She is a finalist for the New Letters Literary Awards in poetry, received an honorable mention in the May Sarton New Hampshire Poetry Prize, a fellowship recipient of the SLS Unified Literary Contest in Lithuania and Kenya, and a scholarship recipient to the Palm Beach Poetry Festival. Her work has been featured on HBO, PBS Art Loft, Buzzfeed, GOOP, Book Riot, Brit.co, Scottish Book Trust, Green Chair Press, and more. Recent writing can be found in Orange Coast Review, Martha's Vineyard Arts and Ideas, Swamp Ape Review, Delmarva, and Bluestem, Zone3 Press, and For Women Who Roar Magazine.
